License FAQ

How Can I Manage My Orders and Subscriptions?

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller, Paddle.com. Paddle.com acts as the Merchant of Record for all orders and handles customer service inquiries and returns.

After your purchase, you will receive two emails from Paddle:

  • "Your Receipt from Typemill": This email contains your invoice.
  • "Your Subscription to Typemill": This email includes links to manage your subscription.

To manage your subscription, click the link in the email titled "Your Subscription to Typemill". After confirming your email address, you will gain access to your account in Paddle's customer portal, where you can view and modify the details of your subscription.

For a general overview of your subscription or to contact Paddle support, visit Paddle.net.

How can I purchase a license?

  • Visit the pricing page,
  • Select the license you wish to purchase and click the corresponding buy button.
  • Complete the checkout process.

You will receive a confirmation email and a receipt from Paddle, along with an email from Typemill containing your license key.

How can I activate my license?

Follow these steps to activate your license:

  • Log in to your Typemill installation.
  • Navigate to system settings and select "License".
  • Enter your license key, the domain intended for the license, and your email address.
  • Save your settings.

You should now see your license details on this page, indicating successful activation.

What should I do if I can't activate my license?

If you encounter any issues during activation, please email us at support@typemill.net with your email and license key. We're here to help!

Can I run a test version with the licensed plugins?

Absolutely! Once your license is activated for your Typemill installation, you can use the licensed plugins, themes, and services on the specified domain, as well as on "localhost", "127.0.0.1", and any "typemilltest." subdomain for testing purposes.

How long is my license valid?

Your license operates on a subscription basis and remains valid for one year from the date of purchase. This subscription will automatically renew every year, ensuring uninterrupted access to the software and its features.

To avoid automatic renewal, you must cancel the subscription before the renewal date. You can do this through Paddle.net. If you decide not to renew, your license will expire at the end of the current subscription period, and you will lose access to any premium features, plugins, or themes associated with the license.

Remember, you are free to cancel your subscription at any time. However, we recommend doing so well before the renewal date to ensure that the cancellation is processed in time.

What happens to plugins when my subscription ends?

When you cancel your subscription, then everything that is released under that subscription will stop working after the last day of your subscription period. This means, the plugins and themes will be deactivated and cannot be activated in your Typemill instance anymore. You will also loose access to services (like API-services) when your subscription period ends.

What happens when my subscription ends?

Upon subscription expiry, any plugin, theme, or services under that subscription will be deactivated and can no longer be used in your Typemill instance.

Can I still use Typemill after my subscription ends?

Yes, you can! Typemill CMS and any plugins or themes under an open-source license like MIT are free to use forever. Only those under the commercial MAKER or BUSINESS licenses require a valid subscription to function.

Can I buy a license for just one year?

While all licenses are initially set up as subscriptions, you can cancel your subscription right after activation to prevent automatic renewal. This way, your license remains valid for one year without auto-renewing. If you wish to continue using the services afterward, a new license purchase is required.

Can I switch from a MAKER to a BUSINESS license?

Direct switching between license types isn't available. To change your license type, please cancel your current subscription and purchase a new license for the desired category. For instance, cancel your MAKER license before purchasing a BUSINESS license.
