Typemill 2.21.0: Update Translations with AI

Typemill version 2.21.0 enhances translation capabilities and introduces AI-assisted updates for existing translations. This release also features a comprehensive status overview of existing and missing translations across all pages. Download the latest version from the start page.

Translation Features

The standout feature of this release is the new AI-powered translation update system. You can now refresh existing translations using an update button in the language tab. I've also integrated a tabular overview displaying all pages and their translation status. This view is accessible via a link in the language tab on all pages, allowing you to quickly identify missing translations while working on multilingual content. Additionally, I've added the Kixote command clear multilang to clear the multilanguage index should anything appear broken with the indexing. With this release, the multilanguage feature is now complete and fully operational.

Fixes and Improvements

I've updated all AI models and introduced new settings for temperature and output tokens, providing greater control over AI-generated content. The Kixote controller has been refactored to properly respect individual model token limits, resulting in more consistent performance. I've also resolved several bugs where the Kixote interface would load outdated content or fail to load content entirely.

Another significant improvement: Images in meta-tabs and configuration forms are now saved directly to the image library upon upload. While this may increase the number of images in your media library, it eliminates the critical bug where images weren't stored correctly and were lost during general form saving. I've also enhanced the logic for the Markdown TOC feature, which now renders multiple identical headlines correctly.

Plugin and Theme Updates

Several plugins and themes have been updated:

• The Personal theme has been updated and now supports individual colors and some readymades.
• The Bettersearch plugin now supports multi-projects
• The Revisions plugin also supports multi-projects
• The SEO plugin now works with the new bettersearch library and includes several bug fixes
• The eBook plugin has resolved epub generation issues

What's Next

I'm dedicating time to focus on infrastructure improvements and automation. It's always exciting to explore the possibilities these rapidly evolving technologies offer. The MCP protocol and new approaches to implementing "Ask the Docs" features without external RAGs show particular promise for Typemill's future.
